Compact crossover Chery Tiggo 7 of the second generation celebrated its official "premiere" at the end of November 2019 at the stands of the international auto show in Guangzhou, but then only as a pre-production "teaser car", while the commercial car, which practically did not change compared to the concept option, declassified a month later during an online presentation.
In general, an off-road vehicle is not a completely new car, but only a product of a deep modernization of its predecessor, but after "reincarnation" it has changed in all directions - it acquired a more aggressive look, slightly enlarged in size, tried on a completely redesigned interior, "armed" with a new turbo engine and received an expanded list of equipment.
Moreover, now it is presented in two versions - in "basic" and "PRO" (featuring more "spectacular" design solutions in the exterior and interior.
The exterior of the "second" Chery Tiggo 7 is made in a youth style, due to which the crossover looks expressive, quite emotional, balanced and very original. The aggressive front of the car bears the piercing gaze of LED optics, a stylish hexagonal radiator grill and a sporty knocked down bumper, while its elegant stern flaunts beautiful lanterns with LED "ramps" extending to the nameplate itself, and a raised bumper with two "curly" exhaust pipes.
In profile, the five-door "flaunts" an attractive, energetic and modern look - a long sloping bonnet, a contrasting "floating" roof sloping smoothly towards the rear, a broken window-sill line, complex plastic sidewalls and large stripes of wheel arches accommodating wheels with dimensions from 17 to 19 inches.
Weight and dimensions
The length of the second generation Chery Tiggo 7 is 4500 mm, and its width and height reach 1842 mm and 1746 mm, respectively. The center distance fits in the car in 2670 mm, and its ground clearance is 196 mm.
The curb weight of the crossover varies from 1421 to 1482 kg, depending on the modification.
Interior
Inside the second "release" of Chery Tiggo 7, everything fully and completely corresponds to modern fashion trends, since "life here flows" on three screens at once, and one of them with a diagonal of 12.3 inches is located directly in front of the driver and plays the role of a dashboard. Well, two more displays adorn the center console: the upper 10.25-inch contains infotainment functions, and the lower one, 8 inches, is folded with a pair of round selectors to manage the climate.
A bit of sportiness in the decoration of the five-door is extolled by a relief multi-steering wheel with a rim beveled at the bottom.
According to the passport, the interior of the compact SUV has a five-seat layout. The front riders are assigned ergonomic seats with a well-developed side profile, a large number of adjustments (in the "top" versions - electric) and heating.
The occupants of the second row have a comfortable sofa with a folding armrest in the center, a normal supply of free space and their own ventilation deflectors.
The “second” Chery Tiggo 7 boasts a roomy trunk, capable of “absorbing” 517 liters of luggage in the normal state, but its shape is far from the most successful.
The backrest of the rear seat is folded in two parts in a ratio of "60:40", which increases the capacity of the load compartment to 1,500 liters, but in this case it is impossible to get a level platform.

In the Russian market, only one petrol unit is announced for Chery Tiggo 7 Pro - this is a 1.5-liter in-line four with turbocharging, distributed injection, an exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head, phase shifters on both camshafts and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, generating 147 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 210 Nm of torque at 1750-4000 rpm.
By default, the engine is mated with a Bosch non-alternative CVT with a lamellar belt, as well as the drive wheels of the front axle (four-wheel drive is not offered even for a surcharge).
It is worth noting that in China, the 1.5-liter "turbo four" produces 156 hp. and 230 Nm of peak thrust, combined with a 6-speed "mechanics", and there is also an alternative version - a 1.6-liter turbo engine, developing 197 hp. and 290 Nm, which works in tandem with a 7-band "robot" with two clutches.

From one place to the first "hundred" the crossover in the Russian specification accelerates after 9.8 seconds, and its maximum capabilities "rest" at 186 km / h.

- For a five-door in the Elite configuration they ask for at least 1,549,900 rubles, and its features include: side airbags for front riders, a servo drive for the fifth door, dual-zone climate control, "leather" interior trim, "music" with six speakers, 18- inch wheels and electric adjustment of the driver's seat.
