At the International Shanghai Motor Show in April 2013, Haval, the premium and independent brand of the Chinese company Great Wall, presented to the general public a new compact SUV called H2, albeit only in the status of a concept, and a year later, at a show in Beijing, it held the world premiere of its production version. ...

The Russian debut of the car, like that of the entire brand as a whole, was organized in August 2014 at the Moscow Auto Show, and its sales in our country started only in the summer of 2015.

Appearance is one of the strengths of the Haval H2 - first of all, the crossover is not frankly copied from anyone, and if you remove the name and emblems, you definitely cannot take it for a product of the Chinese car industry.

The car looks modern and balanced largely thanks to the powerful chrome "shield" of the radiator grille, stylish optics, massive bumpers, embossed sidewalls and beautiful wheel rims with a diameter of 18 inches.

The dimensions of the Haval H2 do not go beyond the compact SUV class: 4335 mm in length, 1695 mm in height and 1814 mm in width. The SUV has a 2560 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 184 mm. In the "traveling" form, the "Chinese" weighs from 1570 to 1650 kg, depending on the version.

Inside, the car looks modern and neat, and also demonstrates precise fit of parts with neat joints and successful combinations of decent finishing materials and different colors. Behind the stylish multifunctional steering wheel is a nice and readable instrument cluster with a "smart" screen, and the center console is decorated with a 7-inch display of the infotainment complex (radio in the basic solution) and an ergonomic air conditioning unit.

The driver and front passenger in the Haval H2 rely on comfortable seats with an acceptable profile, optimal rigidity and a standard set of adjustments. The rear row of seats meets with sufficient space even for adult riders, and in addition to this, it also has the benefits of additional comfort - cup holders, armrests and pockets.

The luggage compartment of the crossover is small - only 300 liters in standard condition. The back of the "gallery", divided into two parts, fits with a slight slope, but brings the usable volume up to 890 liters. In the niche under the raised floor there is a place for a full-fledged "spare wheel", surrounded by a neat organizer.

Specifications. For the Russian market, the Haval H2 is equipped with only one gasoline engine - a 1.5-liter (1497 cubic centimeters) inline-four equipped with a 16-valve timing, a turbocharger, distributed fuel technology, an aluminum cylinder block and a variable valve timing system. Its output is 150 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 210 Nm of torque at 2200-4500 rpm.

In conjunction with the motor, two types of gearboxes are installed - 6-speed "mechanics" or 6-speed "automatic". As standard, the car is equipped with a front-wheel drive transmission, but for the version with a "handle" an optional all-wheel drive system with a multi-plate clutch in the rear axle is available.

The crossover with manual transmission spends about 13.5 seconds to accelerate from zero to the first "hundred", its maximum speed does not exceed 180 km / h, and the average fuel consumption is 8.6 liters for every 100 km of run in the combined cycle. True, the Chinese manufacturer has not yet shared official information on this matter.

The base for the Haval H2 is a front-wheel drive platform with a transversely perched power unit and an independent chassis on the front and rear axles. In the first case, the classic McPherson struts are involved, in the second - a multi-link design ("in a circle" there are anti-roll bars). As standard, the car is equipped with a rack and pinion steering system with an electric power amplifier and disc brakes on all wheels (on the front axle with ventilation) with ABS, EBD and Brake Assist.

Options and prices. In Russia, Haval H2 is sold in 2017 in City, Lux and Elite trim levels. For the basic version of the car, you will have to pay a minimum of 939,900 rubles, you cannot buy a crossover with all-wheel drive for less than 1,099,900 rubles, and for the "automatic" version they ask from 1,119,900 rubles.

The simplest version of the "Chinese" has: a pair of front airbags, air conditioning, "music" with four speakers, ABS, EBD, BA, "cruise", rear parking sensors, power windows for all doors, 18-inch wheel disks and heated side mirrors and electric adjustment and folding.
"Top" cars are also entitled to: fog lights, an electric sunroof, a dual-zone "climate", leather interior, multimedia with a color screen, side airbags, a rear-view camera and a host of other "chips".
