Lamborghini Urus is an all-wheel-drive premium crossover of the full-size category and "the first-born of this format" in the history of the Italian mechanical engineer, which is referred to by the company as SSUV ("Super Sport Utility Vehicle") ... It is a car that combines the functionality and practicality of an SUV suitable for daily use, with the "fighting features" inherent in Lamborghini supercars ...

The world premiere of the five-door took place on December 4, 2017 (at a special event organized in Sant'Agata Bolognese), but for the first time it was presented to the general public back in April 2014 as a concept car of the same name. The most powerful, the fastest, the fastest among the "classmates" - the Italians speak of their "brainchild" only in a superlative degree, because in its arsenal there is a 650-horsepower engine and high-performance equipment.

Outside, the Lamborghini Urus can boast of a brutal, fierce and attractive appearance, in which the "family" features of the brand are visible, but it is difficult to call it a handsome man.

At the front, the crossover flaunts a piercing gaze of headlights and an impressive bumper with a frightening grin of air intakes, while at the rear it attracts attention with a faceted trunk lid, sophisticated lights and a powerful diffuser with a pair of large-caliber "double-barreled" exhaust system.

In profile, the car has a swift wedge-shaped silhouette with a pointed nose, a lowered roofline, expressive plastic sidewalls and spectacular wheel arches with hexagonal outlines.

"Urus" is a full-size SUV with corresponding dimensions: it is 5112 mm long, 2016 mm wide, and does not exceed 1638 mm in height. The wheelbase of the five-door is 3003 mm, and its ground clearance varies from 158 to 248 mm, depending on the position of the air suspension.

When equipped, the car weighs about 2200 kg.

Inside the Lamborghini Urus, the theme of aggression continues with faceted shapes and an abundance of hexagons, and color displays reign here, each of which is responsible for its own front of information.

The driver's workplace "flaunts" a sports multi-steering wheel with a flattened rim at the bottom and a fully virtual instrument cluster, and two more touch screens crown the center console: the upper one is in charge of infotainment functions and car settings, and the lower one - air conditioning and other heating.

The decoration of the crossover is made exclusively of premium materials - expensive leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber, natural wood and aluminum.

By default, the super-SUV's interior is five-seater: the front seats are equipped with tenacious armchairs with integrated headrests, bright side bolsters and a large set of electric adjustments, and on the second row there is a full-fledged three-seater sofa. As an option, the rear "Italian" can be equipped with two bucket-shaped split seats with an armrest in the center.

"Urus" can boast of a high level of practicality - in its arsenal there is a properly shaped trunk, which in normal condition holds 616 liters of luggage (with a four-seater layout of "apartments" - 574 liters). "Galerka" folds in three sections into a flat area, increasing the stock of free space up to 1596 liters.

Under the hood of the Lamborghini Urus is an eight-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters with a V-shaped architecture, two twin-scroll turbochargers in the camber, direct fuel injection, 32-valve timing and variable valve timing, which produces 650 horsepower at 6000 rpm minute and 850 Nm of torque at 2250-4500 rpm.

The power unit is paired with an 8-band "automatic" ZF, equipped with a torque converter, and an all-wheel drive transmission with a Torsen center (self-locking) differential and an active rear differential. Under normal conditions, the thrust is divided between the axles in a ratio of 40:60, however, if necessary, up to 70% of the power can be transferred to the front wheels, and up to 87% to the rear wheels.

On hard surfaces "Urus" demonstrates impressive characteristics: from zero to 100 km / h, it "fires" after 3.6 seconds, and after another 9.2 seconds it exchanges the third "hundred". The maximum crossover "rests" at 305 km / h.

At the same time, it is very economical, at least "on paper" - according to the manufacturer, in a combined cycle, this car consumes 12.3 liters of high-octane gasoline for every 100 kilometers.

At the heart of the Lamborghini Urus is the modular MLB evo bogie with a longitudinally oriented engine. The power structure of the chassis and body of the car combines high-strength steels (they account for 50%), aluminum and composite materials.

Front and rear crossover has independent double-wishbone and multi-link suspensions, respectively, already in the "base" equipped with pneumatic elements, electronically controlled shock absorbers and active anti-roll bars. In addition, it "flaunts" a fully steerable chassis with a mechanism capable of turning the rear wheels at an angle of up to three degrees.

The car is equipped with carbon-ceramic disc brakes "in a circle" with ten-piston front and six-piston rear calipers (the diameter of the "pancakes" is 440 mm and 370 mm, respectively).

In addition, this full-size SUV features adaptive electric power steering and six driving electronics modes - Strada (road); Neve ("snow"); Sport; Corsa ("racing"); Terra ("soil") and Sabbia ("sand").

In the Russian market, the Lamborghini Urus in 2018 is offered at a price of 15,200,000 rubles.

The basic configuration of this super-SUV includes: eight airbags, 21-inch wheels, virtual instrument cluster, full LED optics, boot lid servo, media center, electric and heated front seats, ABS, ESP, adaptive cruise control, assistance system when parking, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, three-zone climate control, premium audio system with eight speakers, all-round cameras and "darkness" of other equipment.
