Peugeot Rifter is a front- or all-wheel drive compact van with a five- or seven-seater cabin layout, which combines attractive design, a high level of practicality and modern technical "stuffing" ... Its main target audience is family people living in the city and leading an active lifestyle, who need a “multifunctional vehicle” ...

The five-door was first demonstrated to a wide audience on February 21, 2018 (during an online presentation) - the car, which replaced the second-generation Partner cargo-passenger model, received an appearance in the "family" style of the brand, moved to a new platform, "armed" with an all-wheel drive transmission and acquired " Sported "version of the GT Line.

Peugeot Rifter looks attractive, solid and quite aggressive, and from the outside it is perceived as a full-fledged cross-van.

An energetic front end with complex headlights and a massive bumper, a monumental silhouette with a sloping bonnet, expressive side surfaces and rounded-square wheel arches, a sheer stern with stylish lanterns and an impressive trunk lid - the car has a harmonious outline, in which there are no contradictory decisions.

In addition to the basic version, a "sporty" version of the GT Line is announced for the compact van - its distinctive features are the contour of the radiator grille, tabs in the side moldings and gloss black mirrors, copper-plated nameplates and 17-inch aluminum wheel rims.

There are two modifications for the Peugeot Rifter - standard and extended. The basic version is 4400 mm long, of which 2780 mm falls on the wheelbase (for the Long version these figures are 4750 mm and 2970 mm, respectively), 1850 mm in width, and 1810 mm in height.

Inside the Rifter, the so-called i-Cockpit concept, familiar from other current models of the French brand, is embodied, which implies a small multi-steering wheel with a flattened top and bottom rim and a combination of instruments located above it. The central console of the car is designed in the spirit of minimalism - the main emphasis here is placed on the protruding 8-inch display of the multimedia complex, under which the air conditioning unit is concentrated.

The decoration of the five-door is made exclusively of high-quality materials - pleasant plastics, high-quality leather, metal-like inserts, etc.

The sporty GT Line can be recognized in the interior by the contrasting brown decor, matching badges and front seats with a more developed side profile.

By default, the Peugeot Rifter has a five-seat layout with ergonomic front seats and a comfortable rear sofa (there is plenty of free space here for all riders). The long version "Long" boasts a full third row of seats that can accommodate two adults.

One of the advantages of the Rifter is its large luggage compartment: its volume varies from 775 to 4000 liters, depending on the version. The seats of the second and third rows of the car "fall" flush with the floor, allowing you to transport bulky items. Under the raised floor, the "Frenchman" hides tools and a spare wheel.

A wide range of power units is offered for the Peugeot Rifter:

  • The first option is a 1.2-liter PureTech petrol "troika" with a turbocharger, direct injection technology, a 12-valve timing structure and variable valve timing, which is created in two power levels:
    • 110 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 205 Nm of torque limit at 1750 rpm;
    • 130 h.p. at 5500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm.
  • The second is a four-cylinder 1.5-liter BlueHDi diesel engine with turbocharging, battery "power" and an 8- or 16-valve DOHC timing belt, provided in three levels of "pumping":
    • 75 horsepower at 3500 rpm and 230 Nm of peak thrust at 1750 rpm;
    • 110 h.p. at 3500 rpm and 254 Nm of generated torque at 1750 rpm;
    • 130 h.p. at 3750 rpm and 300 Nm of available recoil at 1750 rpm.

Engines are combined with 5- or 6-speed "mechanics" or 8-band hydromechanical "automatic" Aisin and driving front wheels.

As an option, the compact van is equipped with an electronic system Grip Control, designed for more confident movement outside the asphalt, and an all-wheel drive transmission of an independent company Dangel (although details about it have not yet been reported).

At the heart of the Peugeot Rifter is a combined platform with an EMP2 front module and a second generation Partner / Berlingo heel rear, and its body is largely made of high-strength steel.

The car is equipped with an independent MacPherson suspension at the front, and a semi-independent axle at the rear (in both cases, with hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars).

The compact van uses a rack and pinion steering gear, aggregated with an electric control amplifier. All wheels of the "Frenchman" are equipped with disc brakes (ventilated in the front), which work in conjunction with ABS, EBD and other modern "assistants".

The world premiere of the Peugeot Rifter will take place in March 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show, and its sales in Europe will begin in September at a price of ~ 22,000 Euro. The car will reach the Russian market, but this will not happen before 2019 2020 (closer to that moment, the complete set with prices will become known).

A wide range of equipment is provided for the compact MPV: front and side airbags, dual-zone climate control, ABS, ESP, EBD, entertainment and information center, heated front seats, power windows, Grip Control system, blind spot monitoring, wheel rims up to 17 inches in diameter and much more.
