Ford Focus SW (Station Wagon) is a golf-class front-wheel drive station wagon (also known as the C segment by European standards), which combines elegant design, a high level of practicality and perfected "driving" characteristics ...

Its main target audience is family people (and regardless of age), for whom it is important not only how the car looks, but also how it drives ...

The fourth generation cargo-passenger model debuted on April 10, 2018 - at a special event held in Germany. After the next “reincarnation”, the five-door has matured externally and internally, enlarged in size (but at the same time “lost weight”) and became more spacious, perched on a new platform and received a wide range of turbocharged engines.

The exterior of the "fourth" Ford Focus Wagon is "drawn" in the same vein as the hatchback of the same name, and all its differences are reduced to the "stretched" rear end. At the same time, such an increase did not extol the weight of the car in the appearance, but, on the contrary, made it even more beautiful, mature and expensive (at least visually).

In terms of external dimensions, the station wagon surpasses its five-door "brother": its length is 4668 mm, height - 1481 mm, width - 1825 mm. But the wheelbase of models in different body types does not differ - 2700 mm.

Inside, the 2019 Ford Focus Wagon copies its sister hatchback - beautiful and modern design, carefully thought-out ergonomics, high-quality materials and workmanship and a five-seat layout.

But in terms of cargo capacity, the station wagon slightly surpasses the base model - with the rear row of seats unfolded, the volume of its trunk is 1653 liters (in this case, an almost flat "rookery" is obtained).

The power range of the cargo-passenger "Focus" of the fourth incarnation is completely borrowed from the hatch:

  • The petrol section combines in-line three- and four-cylinder EcoBoost engines with a working volume of 1.0-1.5 liters with turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing, producing 85-182 horsepower and 170-240 Nm of torque.
  • The diesel "team" includes "fours" for 1.5-2.0 liters with a turbocharger, battery "power" Common Rail and 8- or 16-valve timing, which generate 95-150 hp. and 300-370 Nm of rotational potential.

Normally, all engines work in conjunction with a 6-speed "mechanics" and driving front wheels, but for some of them an 8-band "automatic" (with paddle shifters) is optionally offered.

Structurally, the fourth incarnation of the Ford Focus Wagon does not differ from the hatchback of the same name - it is based on the global C2 platform with a transversely oriented power unit and an independent MacPherson-type suspension on the front axle. At the rear, the car can be equipped with either a semi-independent torsion beam or an independent multi-link (in the second case, also with adaptive shock absorbers "in a circle" for an additional charge).

The station wagon is equipped with electric power steering and disc brakes on all wheels (ventilated at the front) with ABS, EBD and other electronics.

In the European market, sales of the 2019 Ford Focus Wagon are due to begin shortly, although trim levels and pricing have not yet been disclosed.

As for the standard and optional equipment, then in this part the cargo-passenger model will completely and completely repeat the hatch.
