1. Volvo P1800

Irwin Gordon, the owner of a Volvo, has driven more than 3 million miles (4.8 million km).

The P1800 model was first presented at the 1960 exhibition in Brussels, a year later the serial production of the car started. In 2011, the P1800 celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. During this time, about 46 thousand cars were produced.

Irwin Gordon bought a Volvo at the age of 25, in 1966, for $ 4,150. Then the car was considered just gorgeous. Of course, Gordon, as a young teacher, had to abandon the more expensive option with air conditioning, but this did not upset him so much. He immediately liked the car. According to him, he traveled at least 200 km a day. In 1998 it was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records, then the mileage reached 1,690,000 miles (2.7 million km). In September 2006, Gordon traveled 4 million km in his sports coupe, which is equal to the distance of 100 trips around the world or five trips to the Moon and back. 7 years later, a mileage of 3 million miles (4828032 km) was recorded.

Simple calculations show that Gordon did more than 100 thousand km annually in his beloved Volvo. He is proud, because he has traveled to all states of the United States by car.

The car owner himself said that he loves to travel and the best way is by car. He urged everyone to find "their own journey and a reason for it." And he said that no matter how many roads he traveled, there will always be one that he has not yet visited. And the 73-year-old driver, retired, he said that the fact that there is still a lot of interesting things in America, roads that he has not yet driven, turns him on to his next trips. And, of course, his faithful friend helped him to overcome these huge distances - a wonderful monument to the engineering genius of Volvo, as Gordon put it. Irwin gave his adult daughters cars of the same brand.

Volvo P1800 is still in excellent condition, a regular participant in various auto shows and exhibitions. Everywhere the champion car is greeted solemnly. Many people want to sit behind the wheel of the legendary car, but Irwin does not allow anyone.

2.Mercedes 240D

The last owner of this unique car, Paul Harman, donated his car to the Stuttgart Auto Museum. By that time, the car, produced in 1976, had a mileage of 2,858,307 miles, or 4.6 million km, which puts the vehicle on the second line of the ranking of record-breaking cars in the world.

10. Volkswagen Jetta

Our top car with the highest mileage in the world is closed by the model of the German car industry, released in 1986. The car is equipped with a diesel engine, the owner Seal Schmidt drove 562 thousand miles (904,450 km) without repair. According to Schmidt, he is very pleased that his car did not have any serious breakdowns, and the fuel consumption is quite low - only 4.7 l / 100 km.

There are a lot of used cars in the markets, with a mileage of 100 thousand km - this is the distance for which manufacturers issue a guarantee.
