In October 2013, sales of the updated mid-size crossover SsangYong Actyon II started on the Russian market, which is being assembled in Vladivostok at the facilities of the Sollers-Far East plant. Conveyor proximity to Mazda and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado cars apparently had a positive effect on the "aura" of the new Sang Yong Aktion and after restyling the crossover became noticeably more attractive both externally and technically.
The exterior, updated for 2014, SsangYong Actyon is close to modern standards. The body contours have become more dynamic due to the revised front design concept, where the ball is ruled by a new radiator grille and nice optics with pleasant geometry. A new front bumper with a huge mesh air intake has added a bit of sport to the SsangYong Aktion's fresh look, which should appeal to young crossover buyers.
In terms of dimensions, the SsangYong Actyon does not surprise with anything, demonstrating the figures typical for the class of mid-size crossovers: body length - 4410 mm, wheelbase length - 2650 mm, body width - 1830 mm, height without rails - 1675 mm, height with rails - 1710 mm, ground clearance - 180 - 190 mm (depending on the configuration). The curb weight of the car ranges from 1612 - 1767 kg and depends on the level of equipment and the type of engine used.
The interior of Sanyeng Aktion 2014 has changed more globally. First of all, we note the new front panel, which received not only a fresh, ergonomic layout, but also new finishing materials that replaced the frankly cheap plastic. New materials have also been used in the finishing of other elements of the five-seater cabin, as a result of which the external interior space of the crossover has noticeably increased in price, it has become more modern and more pleasant.
There are also some useful options. In particular, the Sang Yong Aktion crossover can be equipped with a heated steering wheel or a front seat ventilation system. As for the trunk, its standard volume for the new Sang Yong Aktion is 486 liters, but it can increase to 1312 liters if the backs of the rear seats are folded down.
Specifications. The updated SsangYong Actyon of the 2nd generation will be offered to Russian buyers with two engine options: one gasoline and one diesel. At the same time, according to Koreans, the motors themselves have undergone some modifications, which should make them quieter, more productive and more economical.
- The e-XGi200 (G20) petrol power unit with four in-line cylinders has a displacement of 2.0 liters (1998 cm3). Its maximum power is 149 hp. or 109.6 kW developed at 6000 rpm. The peak torque of the gasoline power unit falls at around 197 Nm, held in the range of 3500 - 4500 rpm. The G20 engine is equipped with a variable valve timing system as well as a variable intake manifold length system. In addition, the engine is equipped with multipoint fuel injection with an updated electronic control unit.
A gasoline engine with a 6-speed "mechanics" or 6-band "automatic" is aggregated. In the case of the manual transmission, the new Actyon will be able to accelerate to a maximum speed of 165 km / h, while consuming about 7.5 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers in the front-wheel drive version and about 8.2 liters in the version with active all-wheel drive (AWD). Installing an automatic transmission will not increase the speed capabilities of the crossover, but it will affect fuel consumption: 8.0 liters in front-wheel drive and 8.5 liters in the presence of all-wheel drive. - The e-XDi200 (D20DTF) diesel unit is also equipped with 4 cylinders with a total displacement of 2.0 liters (1998 cm3) and develops the same 149 hp. maximum power, but they are already achieved at 3000 - 4000 rpm. The peak torque of the diesel plant is limited to 360 Nm, developed in the range of 2000 - 2500 rpm. The D20DTF is a turbocharged, electronically controlled variable geometry turbine (E-VGT) engine with common rail fuel injection.
As a gearbox for the diesel engine, the same set of 6-speed gearboxes is offered, allowing the crossover to accelerate to 174 km / h maximum speed. With the "mechanics" fuel consumption will be 6.0 and 6.4 liters for front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive modifications, respectively, and the installation of the "automatic" will increase this figure to 7.3 and 7.5 liters.
We add that both gearboxes available for the updated SsangYong Actyon New have undergone major improvements. In particular, the manual transmission received a new lubrication system, a revised gear ratio range and a new indicator of the optimal moment for switching on the instrument panel. In turn, the automatic transmission has acquired a new firmware with an intelligent control system and an updated manual shift mode.
The re-tuned crossover chassis now provides a more comfortable driving experience. This is facilitated by the replacement of some structural elements: subframe cushions, engine brackets, rear axle mounts, etc. At the same time, the suspension layout remains the same: in front, MacPherson struts are used, supplemented with wishbones and a stabilizer, and a multi-link Multi-link system with telescopic shock absorbers and an anti-roll bar is installed at the rear. The wheels on the front axle are equipped with ventilated disc brakes; on the rear wheels, simple disc brakes are preferred. At the same time, the braking system of the SanEng Aktion crossover is supplemented with a number of electronic assistants: 4-channel ABS, EBD and BAS (not available in the basic configuration). The rack and pinion steering gear in the initial configurations receives power steering, and in more expensive versions, the electric power steering (EPS) with a variable gear ratio.
Korean developers managed to make a noticeable step forward in terms of security. The updated SsangYong Actyon is fully equipped with six state-of-the-art airbags, TPMS, ESP and ARP. In addition, the electronic uphill assist (HAS) and the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), which promptly warn drivers of vehicles following the trail, provide safety in difficult conditions.
Options and prices. In Russia, the 2017 SsangYong New Actyon is presented only with a gasoline engine in five trim levels - "Welcome", "Original", "Comfort", "Elegance" and "Premium" (the first three are exclusively with front-wheel drive, and the remaining two are with full ).
The simplest modification of the crossover is estimated at 1,169,000 rubles, and its "armament" is formed by one airbag, "cruise", ABS, EBD, four power windows, electrical settings and heated exterior mirrors, 16-inch light-alloy "rollers", air conditioning, power steering, audio preparation with six speakers and an electric heated windshield.
A car with all-wheel drive (it is available from the Elegance version) is offered at a price of 1,889,000 rubles, and for the "senior" version you will need to pay an additional 101,000 rubles. The maximum "packed" five-door also boasts heated steering wheel and front and rear seats, front and side airbags, ESP, "climate", help function when starting up the hill, rain and light sensors, multimedia system, rear view camera, leather trim salon and other modern equipment.
