The mid-size SUV Derways Cowboy made its official debut in the summer of 2003 at the international motor show in Moscow, and a few months later its commercial production began in Cherkessk.
In 2005, the car changed in technical terms, "moving" from the Romanian chassis to the Chinese, after which it was produced until 2006, but did not enjoy high consumer demand - in total, it sold about 800 copies.
In length, the "Cowboy" extends to 4440 mm, its width is 1813 mm, and the height is 1880 mm. The wheelbase of the five-door is 2600 mm from the outer length, and the clearance under the bottom reaches 230 mm.
Depending on the solution, the "combat" weight of the SUV varies from 1802 to 1888 kg, and its maximum permissible weight exceeds 2.5 tons.
Specifications. A wide variety of powertrains are available for Derways Cowboy:
- The petrol range on the car is represented by atmospheric engines with distributed injection - these are in-line "fours" with a volume of 2.4-2.7 liters, developing 130-143 "mares" and 190-230 Nm of torque, and a 3.0-liter V-shaped "six", generating 160 horsepower and 248 Nm of peak thrust.
- Provided for an SUV and a diesel - a four-cylinder 2.0-liter unit with a turbocharger and direct injection, which produces 90 "stallions" and 205 Nm of available potential.
All engines work together with a "mechanics" for five gears and a Part-time all-wheel drive system with an activated front axle, a 2-speed transfer case and locking differentials.
Regardless of the modification, Derways Cowboy is able to reach a speed of 145 km / h.
The angles of entry, exit and ramp (longitudinal cross-country ability) for an SUV reach 44, 31 and 29.5 degrees, respectively.
At the heart of the car is a frame chassis with a frame structure and a power unit located longitudinally in the front. On the front axle, the five-door demonstrates independent suspension on double wishbones and coil springs, and on the rear - dependent architecture on multi-leaf semi-elliptical springs (in both cases, with transverse stabilizers).
As standard, the SUV "sports" a steering center with a hydraulic booster and a braking system that combines ventilated "pancakes" in the front, drum devices at the rear and ABS.
The advantages of a car are: a strong and reliable design, a fairly roomy interior, a solid trunk, excellent cross-country ability, high maintainability, affordable cost, etc.
However, the five-door also lacks: a controversial appearance, poor build quality, a lack of spare parts, a low level of comfort and high fuel consumption.
Price. In Russia, you can buy Derways Cowboy (naturally, on the secondary market) in 2017 at a price of ~ 150 thousand rubles.
