Until recently, "Scouts" in the model lineup of the Czech company Skoda designated "cross" modifications of cars, but from now on, the "off-road" version is also available for the Skoda Kodiaq - a car that was originally a crossover and a priori was designed to drive off the asphalt (according to "not too difficult "rough terrain) ... But in the performance of" Scout "it is somewhat better adapted for this kind of" pokatushki "...

The online presentation of the Skoda Kodiaq Scout took place on January 26, 2017, and already in March of the same year, a "live" premiere took place at the Geneva Motor Show - the Czechs not only added a bit of "off-road entourage" to it in appearance, but also improved off-road driving capabilities ( in particular, adding new modern "off-road gadgets").

The more "off-road" one differs from the usual "Kodiak" by the silvery bodies of the side mirrors, overlays under the bumpers and inserts in the radiator grille, roof rails of the same color, "Scout" nameplates on the front fenders, and even original wheel disks measuring 19 inches.

In terms of overall dimensions, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout repeats the standard "brother": 4697 mm in length, 1655 mm in height and 1882 mm in width. The car has a 2791 mm wheelbase, and the clearance under its "belly" is 194 mm.

The interior of the "Scout" is borrowed from a regular model without any significant changes: an attractive and austere design, impeccable ergonomics, excellent finishing materials, a five- or seven-seat layout (depending on the version) and a cargo compartment with a volume of 270 to 2065 liters.

Specifications. For Skoda Kodiaq Scout, four power plants are announced:

  • Gasoline engines - in-line "four" TSI volume of 1.4 and 1.8 liters with turbocharging, direct injection and 16-valve configuration, developing 150 and 180 horsepower (250 and 320 Nm of torque, respectively).
  • Diesel engines include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI engine, offered in two pumping options: 150 horses and 340 Nm of peak thrust, or 190 horses and 400 Nm.

All units are installed jointly with a DSG "robot" ("junior" petrol - with a 6-speed, and the rest - with a 7-range), and the 150-horsepower engines are offered by default with a 6-speed "mechanics".

All "Scouts" are all-wheel drive, with a BorgWarner clutch in the rear wheel drive. The off-road arsenal of the car is backed up by the "off-road" mode - when activated, the settings for adaptive shock absorbers, ABS, stabilization system and imitation of the front differential lock are changed.

To the first "hundred" Skoda Kodiaq Scout "breaks down" in 8-9.8 seconds and peak accelerates to 197-210 km / h.

Gasoline versions of the five-door "digest" from 6.8 to 7.3 liters of fuel in the combined cycle per 100 km, and diesel versions - 5.3-5.7 liters.

Structurally, the "off-road" version does not differ from the standard version: the MQB "bogie" is based on MacPherson struts in front and a "four-lever" in the rear (for a surcharge with adaptive shock absorbers), electric power steering with variable characteristics and disc brakes on all wheels with ABS, BAS and EBD.

Options and prices. In the Russian market, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout in 2018 is sold at a price of 2,254,000 rubles - this is how much dealers want for an SUV with a 150-horsepower petrol unit. For a diesel version, you will have to pay a minimum of 2,518,000 rubles, and the most powerful modification will cost from 2,564,000 rubles.

The starting configuration of the five-door includes: six airbags, tinted rear windows, 19-inch wheel disks, interior upholstery in Alcantara, dual-zone "climate", heated front seats, ABS, ESP, multimedia complex, ERA-GLONASS system, "music" with 8 -yu speakers, rear parking sensors, full power accessories and the darkness of other modern "gadgets".
For an additional fee, the car can be equipped with: a three-zone climate control system, an electric driver's seat with memory, a panoramic roof, an all-round visibility system, an adaptive cruise, blind spot monitoring, an automatic braking function at city speeds and other equipment.
