In January 2015, the updated Hyundai Veloster Turbo hatchback was presented in South Korea, which has been present in the Korean manufacturer's lineup since 2012. This was "good news" for Russian motorists - after the upgrade, the "charged" four-door made it to the Russian market (where it was not previously available).

The already sporty and original appearance of the "Veloster" in the performance of Turbo is emphasized by the aerodynamic body kit, and the planned renovation brought a minimum of changes to the exterior - a new radiator grille and a different-shaped hood appeared. Distinctive features of such a hatch are the front part with a trapezoidal radiator grill with chrome edging and a more prominent bumper, and the rear one with a diffuser and a pair of round-shaped exhaust pipes built into the bumper.

Regarding the dimensions of the "civilian" brother, the Turbo version is slightly larger - longer by 30 mm (4250 mm), wider by 15 mm (1805 mm) and higher by 6 mm (1405 mm). But the parameters of the wheelbase and ground clearance of cars are identical.

The architecture, design and capacity of the interior of the Hyundai Veloster are practically no different from those of the Turbo: the "charged" model has a slightly different dashboard, sports front seats with outstanding lateral support and two-tone trim, as well as a steering wheel dressed in perforated leather.

Specifications. Under the hood of the Turbo-Veloster is a 1.6-liter T-GDi engine with direct fuel injection and a twin-scroll turbocharger. The unit generates 186 horsepower and 265 Nm of peak torque, available in a range of 1,500 to 4,500 rpm.

A bundle with a turbo engine is a 7-DCT robotic transmission with a pair of clutches, which directs full traction to the front axle.

Thanks to this "stuffing" the car accelerates to 214 km / h, and the speed of 100 km / h is reached 8.5 seconds after the start, while for every “hundred run” Veloster Turbo “eats” 7.1 liters of fuel on average.

For the rest of the technical characteristics, the Hyundai Veloster Turbo is identical to the less powerful modification, with the exception of some nuances - it was separated by the reconfigured steering and reinforced brakes.

Complete set and price. In Russia, the turbocharged Veloster is offered in the Jet configuration at a price of 1,339 thousand rubles. The list of basic equipment is quite impressive - leather multi-steering wheel, xenon headlights, engine start button, climate control, power accessories, leather-trimmed seats, premium "music" with seven speakers, a subwoofer and an external amplifier, 18-inch "rollers" of the original design, cruise control and electrically folding exterior mirrors.
