In 2010, at the Leipzig Motor Show (which has an international status), the Volkswagen Touran debuted "the 2nd wave of modernization" - outwardly it was a "completely new car", but in fact - a deeply modernized version of the same "Turan from 2003 ”(And the real change of generations took place only five years later - in 2015).

Outside, everything is "at five", one glance is enough to understand - this is Volkswagen!

The car is endowed with a strict and solid appearance (although already somewhat boring and boring). The most recognizable is the front part with the menacing "gaze" of the head optics with the "horseshoe" of LED lights and a compact radiator grill, in the center of which there is a large emblem of the brand.

Well, in general, the exterior of "Turan" is dominated by calm and simple body lines, creating a holistic and complete image.

In terms of dimensions, the New² Touran I belongs to the compact van class. The total length of the vehicle is 4397 mm, of which 2768 mm is reserved for the distance between the bridges, and the height and width do not exceed 1674 mm and 1794 mm, respectively. The ground clearance cannot be called impressive - its figure is 150 mm.

Behind the clearness of the outer lines of the body, a comfortable and intuitive interior opens wide - a strict design and ergonomics verified to the smallest detail. The steering wheel with a three-spoke design and a brand emblem with a comfortable shape is nice to look at, the instrument cluster is simple, but informative and perfectly readable.

On the center console of the Volkswagen Touran, only the necessary controls are located - an air conditioning system and a color display of the multimedia system (in the basic version - a simple radio with a monochrome screen).

In front of the "Turan" there are comfortable chairs in every sense, which are shaped for people of normal build. The optimal profile combined with the large adjustment ranges ensure a comfortable and high seating position.

But the rear sofa of the compact van attracts not so much with the amount of free space as with the transformation possibilities - three separate chairs move longitudinally, their backs are adjusted in tilt angle and are thrown forward, or you can even make a 4-seater version by removing the middle chair ... "Gallery" - able to comfortably accommodate two passengers.

With five passengers on board, the Volkswagen Touran has a boot capacity of 695 liters, which can be increased to 1990 liters by transforming the second row of seats. "Hold" is ideal in shape, well adapted for carrying luggage, and under its raised floor there is a "spare wheel" on a full-fledged disk.

Specifications. In the Russian market, three gasoline units are offered for the "new first Turan":

  • The base is a 1.2-liter TSI engine with turbocharging and direct injection, developing 105 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque at 1550-4100 rpm.
    In combination with 6-speed "mechanics" and front-wheel drive, it enables the compact MPV after 11.9 seconds to gain 100 km / h and accelerate to 185 km / h, while consuming 6.4 liters in mixed mode.
  • The 1.4-liter TSI engine is equipped with a supercharger, direct injection and turbocharging, and, depending on the degree of boost, generates 140 "horses" and 220 Nm at 1250-4000 rpm or 170 forces and 240 Nm of thrust, available from 1500 rpm ...
    For them, "mechanics" are assigned to six steps or a 7-band DSG, which feeds the moment to the front wheels. Acceleration to a hundred in such a "Turan" takes 8.5-9.5 seconds, the "maximum" is 202-212 km / h, and the "consumption" of fuel varies from 6.6 to 7.6 liters.
  • The 2.0 TDI two-liter turbo diesel produces 110 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque generated at 1750 rpm.
    There are two gearboxes - 6-speed "mechanics" or "robot". From a standstill to 100 km / h, such a "Touran" rushes in 12.1 seconds, and the speed gain continues to 183-185 km / h. At the same time, diesel fuel is consumed a little - on average, 5.4-5.7 liters.

As before, this embodiment of "Turan" is based on the (outdated) "cart" PQ35 (also familiar from the Volkswagen Golf of the 6th generation). The platform implies the presence of McPherson struts on the front axle and a multi-link scheme on the rear axle.
An electric power steering is installed on the rack and pinion steering mechanism, and disc brakes with ABS are installed on each of the wheels.

Options and prices. In Russia, for the 2015 Volkswagen Touran in the basic configuration of Trendline, they ask from 1,247,000 to 1,467,000 rubles, and the final price depends on the engine-transmission combination. The list of standard equipment is presented: airbags (front and sides), air conditioning, cruise control, power accessories, heated front seats, standard "music", ABS, ESP and others.

The cost of the VW Touran in the Highline version is from 1,547,000 rubles, and it can “flaunt”: an air conditioner, multi-steering wheel, fog lights, alloy wheels, rain sensors and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearshift lever.

In each of the levels, equipment for the third row of seats will have to pay an additional 38,850 rubles, for bi-xenon front optics - 54,780 rubles, and for an automatic parking system - 40,810 rubles.
