In August 2016, the Uzbek brand Ravon brought to the International Moscow Auto Show a commercial version of the budget sedan R4 (and its sales in Russia started already by the end of November), which is actually a “slightly redesigned” version of the Chevrolet Cobalt four-door, previously offered in Russia market.

But nevertheless, it is wrong to call this show a full-fledged premiere, because back in October 2015 this car was shown to the public - at the official presentation of the Ravon brand in our country.

Of course, the outside of the Ravon R4 is not a standard of beauty, but in general it has a well-cut and peculiar appearance.

The exterior of the car is devoid of an abundance of chrome parts and other "embellishments", which is only beneficial for the "state employee". In profile and behind, the four-door looks quite brutal, harmonious and, most importantly, complete, but the front part, due to the high "forehead" and huge headlights, is somewhat discordant with the general appearance due to its excessive verticality.

In terms of external dimensions, the Ravon R4 corresponds to the "B +" class: the length of the three-volume is 4479 mm, the height is 1514 mm, and the width is 1735 mm. The front and rear axles are separated from each other by a 2620mm wheelbase gap.

The curb weight of the car does not exceed 1140-1170 kg, depending on the decision.

The interior of the Uzbek sedan looks simple and somewhat pale, and the only thing that catches the eye is an uncomplicated, but still "motorcycle" dashboard with a digital speedometer and an analog tachometer. Although the "bald" steering wheel with a three-spoke design, and the center console made in a minimalist style (with a neat radio tape recorder and three "climate" controls) do not cause rejection and fully meet the budget essence of the car.

The decoration of the four-door is trimmed with inexpensive materials, but neatly assembled.

The front seats of Ravon R4, despite their nondescript appearance, have a comfortable profile with unobtrusive side bolsters, optimal padding rigidity and a wide range of adjustments.

The rear sofa is nicely shaped and comfortable for passengers, but devoid of any frills.

In terms of the volume of the trunk, the R4 is capable of "rubbing its nose" into cars of an even higher class - 545 liters.

If these numbers are not enough, then the back of the rear sofa folds, however, into an uneven surface, increasing the amount of free space.

In addition, the "hold" of the four-door has a wide opening, neat upholstery and a full-size "spare" in the underground.

Specifications. In the engine compartment of the Ravon R4, an atmospheric S-TEC III gasoline engine with four vertically arranged cylinders, a distributed power system, a cast iron block, an aluminum block head with a pair of camshafts and a 16-valve DOHC type timing chain with a chain drive takes its place.
With a working volume of 1.5 liters (1485 cubic centimeters), the "four" produces 105 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 134 Nm of available torque at 4000 rpm.

In tandem with the engine, a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission is installed, which supply the entire power reserve to the wheels of the front axle.

Depending on the modification, the car copes with the first "hundred" in 11.7-12.6 seconds, and accelerates to a maximum of 169-170 km / h.

In the "mechanical" version, the four-door "digests" 6.2 liters of fuel (in the combined driving mode), and in the "automatic" version - by 0.5 liters more.

The Ravon R4 trolley was inherited from the Chevrolet Cobalt without any changes - a front-wheel drive GM Gamma with a transversely based power unit and a body made of high-strength steel with crumple zones.

At the front, the three-box uses an independent "walker" with MacPherson struts and an anti-roll bar, and at the rear - a semi-independent system with a twisting beam.

In all versions, the car is equipped with a steering gear with a hydraulic booster mounted on a rack.

The wheels of the front axle are equipped with ventilated "pancakes" with a diameter of 256 mm, and the rear wheels are equipped with drum devices (more expensive versions have ABS).

Options and prices. The 2017 Ravon R4 is supplied to the Russian market in three trim levels - Comfort, Optimum and Elegant:

  • For a basic car "on mechanics" they ask for 489,000 rubles, but it is very poorly equipped: one airbag, power steering, ABS, heating and electric mirrors, 14-inch steel wheels, an audio system with four speakers, AUX and USB port, and technology ERA-GLONASS. For the "automatic" surcharge will be 70,000 rubles (but in addition will include: heated front seats, alarm, front power windows and air conditioning)
  • An intermediate version "Optimum" with "mechanics" costs from 539,000 rubles, and for the "automatic" will have to pay another 50,000 rubles. Its "features" are: two airbags, air conditioning, fog lights, heated front seats and four power windows.
  • "Top" solution does not buy cheaper than 579,000 rubles, and in addition to the above options, it "flaunts" aluminum 15-inch wheel rims, and better quality seat trim.
