At the car show in Guangzhou, which took place at the end of November 2015, the Chinese automaker Chery presented a new compact sedan Arrizo 5 in a serial guise to the judgment of the world community (the conceptual predecessor of which debuted in April of the same year at the Shanghai Motor Show in the form of the Alpha 5 four-door).
In its home market, the car went on sale in March 2016, and already in September it underwent a small modernization (limited to the introduction of a turbo engine).
The image of Chery Arrizo 5 turned out to be collective, but very pleasant to the eye, even though the features of Hyundai Solaris are clearly traced in its appearance. A striking facade with a trapezoidal radiator grille and frowning lighting technology, interconnected by a thin chrome strip, a dynamic silhouette with an arched roof, elegant folds on the sidewalls and a short "tail" of the trunk, fried stern with graceful lanterns and a "puffy" bumper - the car looks fashionable and attractive ...
In terms of its outer dimensions, the Chinese "five Arizo" fits into the C-class according to the European classification: the three-volume is 4572 mm long, 1482 mm high and 1825 mm wide. The car has a 2670 mm wheelbase and 157 mm clearance under the "belly".
The interior of Chery Arrizo 5 is very interesting and bold in appearance, and at the same time well-arranged, without obvious ergonomic mistakes, although there are certain borrowings in its design, only from Ford models. Behind the stylish multifunctional steering wheel in two "complex wells" is hidden a laconic "toolbox", and the beautiful center console is filled with a 7-inch display of the entertainment and information center and a clear climate "control". In addition to this, inside the four-door pleases with solid finishing materials and neat assembly.
The front seats of Arizo 5 are not a standard of comfort, but they have a well thought-out profile with developed sidewalls and wide adjustment intervals. The rear sofa demonstrates an unnecessarily flat configuration, but it is difficult to blame the second row for the lack of free space.
The trunk of the "five" in its standard form is able to accommodate 430 liters of luggage - not the best indicator in the "golf" class. The back of the "gallery" folds entirely, but does not form a level platform, and in the niche under the raised floor there is a full-fledged "spare wheel" and the necessary tool.
In the Chinese market, for Chery Arrizo 5, there are two gasoline four-cylinder engines with an in-line layout, a multi-point power supply system and a 16-valve timing arrangement.
- Standard sedan is equipped with "aspirated" volume of 1.5 liters (1499 cubic centimeters), which produces 116 horsepower at 6150 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 3800 rpm. With it, in tandem, a 5-speed "mechanics" or a continuously variable CVT variator with seven "conventional" gears are installed, directing the total traction reserve to the wheels of the front axle. Depending on the modification, such a car gains 180-185 km / h and "digests" no more than 5.4-5.9 liters of fuel in mixed mode.
- An alternative to it is a turbocharged 1.5-liter unit that generates 125 "stallions" and 205 Nm of maximum potential. The Chinese have not yet disseminated more detailed information regarding this engine (they will share it closer to the end of 2016).
As a base, Chery Arrizo 5 uses a front-wheel drive platform, and the "skeleton" of its body consists of more than 60% of high-strength steel grades. At the front, the car "flaunts" an independent suspension with MacPherson struts and a transverse stabilizer, and at the rear - a semi-independent torsion beam.
The Chinese sedan is equipped with an electric power steering complex, and all its wheels are equipped with disc brakes (ventilated on the front axle) with ABS, EBD and other auxiliary electronics.
Options and prices. In the Celestial Empire, Chery Arizo 5 is offered at a price of 58,900 to 97,900 yuan (~ 570-950 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate).
In the initial version, the car has: two airbags, 15-inch wheel rims, air conditioning, audio system, power windows for all doors, outside mirrors with heating and electric settings, fog lights, ABS, EBD, ESP and other "gadgets".
The most "packed" sedan is capable of boasting: 17-inch "rollers", leather interior trim, a multimedia system with a rear-view camera, engine start from a button, climate control, side airbags and many other equipment.
